Everything is Awesome at Hobbes and Landes Lego Building City

It was an awesome date with my first born. Q is a Lego and building block fanatic. That is why any invitations or events that deals with Lego is something special and we cant let it pass. Mommy Bloggers Ph's invitation came in perfect timing. Q's exam is coming and this activity is a way to destress him from reviewing and preparing for finals. As expected, he was excited when he learned about it.

Build City is located in Hobbes and Landes,
3rd Flr of the Greenbelt 5, Makati City

I made it sure this is our quality time with each other so we left Z with their aunts so we could maximize this moment. We commuted using the MRT and walked through the malls interconnected to reach Greenbelt 5. We got there in time, in fact very early for the event but in time for the start of registration at 11AM.

Q was HERE!

Happy Builder

more kids are coming in

A Hobbes and Landes staff got his name and age at the registration and made us come back before 3 for the competition. We then had lunch after signing up. After eating, we immediately went back to the store and Q played at the Lego building table. MBP kids were also there. Clyt, mommy Neri's niece and Rafael, mommy Anna's son. As the time for the competition comes to near, more kids are coming and playing at the table. Some are walking clients of the store and some came also to sign up.

The Lego Trio Speed Building Comepetition started at exactly 3 PM, Reeno Catioc, from Lego Philippines, welcomed everyone and immediately proceeded on calling  and assigning the participants to their corresponding teams of 3.

At first, Q was called to be part of Team B for the 7-10 y/o category but withdrawn immediately. There were 3 groups of 3, A,B, and C formed for the said category.  Clyt was part of Team A, Rafael and Nico, son of mommy Mona, should have been Q's teammates in Team B until he was pulled out and replaced by another girl. Q then became Team A in the 11-14 y/o category. He happened to be the oldest in the former category so he was sort of accelerated.

Teams A and B assembled around the table. Sir Reeno gave them the mechanics and the image of the Lego blocks to be built. It was a house, with red, blue yellow and black color combination. The game master divided it into 3 and assigned one to each participants. Each will build the corresponding part of the house, 1st floor, second floor and the attic/roof, within 1 minute. However, they didn't finish the house, as I have understood from the mechanics. They were judged according to what they accomplished over the given time.

Game Faces on!

Q was teamed up to very competitive youngsters, definitely building block fanatics. They happened to be siblings. They support each other by cheering and boosting. They did the same with Q being their teammate. To cut the long story short, their team won. Q, although got very tensed did his best. His strategies worked for him. Over all he really enjoyed the experience, given that this is his first time to compete in a building block event and won. He took home a very favorable loot. They shared 3 thousand worth of Lego toys. All the participants also got Lego Posters being part of the event.
